Gloriously Ordinary Sundays - 15th December 2024
So, it appears to be the end of 2024 nearly. How did that happen? It’s been quite a year in the Nicoll household with the launching of The Boy and trying to navigate a whole new brand of parenting, not to mention getting used to living on my own again.
Top news is that, having always wanted to protect my kids’ identity by talking about them as The Boy and The Girl, The Boy is ready to let it be known who he is. There’s a great reason for this - he wants you all to know he is available for work! He’s worked with me twice this year, telling people about getting his own place and how his Gloriously Ordinary Life works, and it’s gone down a storm both times. He’d like to do more and while it’s a, ‘watch this space’ for the details, Ciaran Cameron is very much out there. Given that, it only felt right to have his words in this last blog of the year. Here’s what he’s got to say about how life is for him now – his words and pictures (including screenshots of some of our text exchanges) with zero editing from me.
Flat 2 is good. Great job Ciaran. Got Arnold and Amy helping. Just Ciaran at night now – much better. Christmas tree up 26th November. Tricia said too early. Very funny.
Saturdays is London just Ciaran. Train and Tube. Different places.
Working is Readifood on Friday and MacDonalds Sunday. More MacDonalds shifts next year. More work with Tricia telling story. ‘what’s your question for Ciaran?’
November did train to Wakefield one night Sam and Jon then one night Mum York. Do it Reading to London Paddington then Tube to Kings Cross then look at board to find train to Wakefield. Got it flowers and wine at Waitrose King’s Cross for Sam Jon. Do again in January.
See Josh in Leeds great day Royal Armouries like when Ciaran boy.
Good things to do like climbing super strong like Hulk and walk by river. Bus to Oxford for Ashmolean Museum. Cinema is after work on Sunday.
Sundays is dinner at Tricia’s Sunningdale house then back to Flat 2. Tricia says not curry take out every week. Very funny.
Christmas is good. Coming Tricia’s Sunningdale house 2 nights for present and food. No turkey very funny. Then back to Flat 2. Perfect.
You are indeed perfect Ciaran.
PPS. Did you see? The Gloriously Ordinary Sundays Podcast episode 9 is here. I chat with Kate Mercer from Black Belt Advocacy. We reflect on how advocacy is about being alongside somebody, and the role of advocacy in creating Gloriously Ordinary Lives, and introduce our new training programme, 'Advocating with and for Gloriously Ordinary Lives'.
